I have done business with Mike Morrow, the owner of Capitol Fence for the past decade. Our original job we bid out to 3 firms, Capitol was not the most expensive, or the least expensive. It was right in the middle, and after meeting with Mike, I had a good feeling that he would do what he said, when he said he would do it. He did. We have since done a couple of other projects with them, and they always deliver a quality product, at a fair price. I don’t even bother getting bids from other firms at this point. I highly recommend Capitol Fence, and have done so to several friends and colleagues, and all of them have been as equally pleased as I. First rate service, quality product, fair price.

Mike with Capitol Fence did an exceptional job on my custom fence and gate. I had a industrial designer who provided the design which he followed precisely.  My neighbors have praised the work as well.  After the fence and gates were installed, I additional requests for gate locks–an extra measure of security.  Mike had this immediately installed.  My job was not an easy one–about a 25′ drop on the property with two gates, one solar & one electric (for backup).  I’ve very satisfied with the beautiful job & the maintenance thereafter.

About 10 years ago I used Capitol Fence to install electronic swing arms to some garage gates I built.  The install was great.  The guys were professional and the job was done perfectly, even on a gate they didn’t build.  They installed a Liftmaster unit they had recommended.

About 5 years ago I ran into my first minor problem with the opener and called Mike for some help in troubleshooting.  He knew right off the bat the problem, just had to replace a few batteries which it turns out is routine maintenance.  I got the batteries and installed them…boom worked beautifully.

A few years after that, I had another minor issue so I called Mike.  He wasn’t quite sure how to handle this one so he had his installer call me to help out.  The guy called and got me back up and running in no time.
Now, just today, I reached out for Mike to help me troubleshoot another item and he happily did it.
To sum it up, he did a great job for me 10 years ago but the thing is he has come to the rescue for me several times since then.  He’s the real deal if you want someone that is there for you after the sale.

Capitol Fence installed a fence for me one year ago. The fence posts were steel rather than wood, but clad in wood. As a result, they won’t warp or decay, but still look like a normal fence post. Since the installation, I needed service one time to add a gate. The folks at Capitol Fence gladly made the addition at a nominal price. I found the quality of the product and service to be excellent. And the price was fair. I highly recommend Capitol Fence.

Overall, we had a really great experience working with Capitol Fence.  100% of the work, from the estimate to the construction was done by Randy and he was fantastic.  Very professional, timely, and flexible with a few of the “quirks” for our job.  We wanted a new construction, 260 linear ft horizontal cedar fence on steel posts.  From the day of the estimate to the first day of construction was two weeks which was fairly quick.  Randy did the entire job by himself (post holes and all in July heat) in 3.5 days during the holiday week.  Our fence looks fantastic and we’ve had neighbors asking about it all week.

Capitol Fence built both a wooden and an iron fence at our house in south Austin 10 years ago and they both still look great! Also, when I recently had a warranty issue with some rust on the gate, the president of the company contacted me personally and arranged for it to be fixed at no charge. Great workmanship and great customer service a full decade after the sale!

Capitol Fence was the only company that wrote up what I considered a complete bid to include specifying the exact materials they were going to use, as well as breaking down the costs (installation, demo, gates, etc).  What really sold me was the option of getting welded steel frame gates that are fabricated on site.  The first thing that usually goes out of whack is the gate…it will start dragging and not close correctly.  Not these things…they’re going to still be standing long after I’m gone! We had weather related delays, but once we got started it sailed right through.  The back of our property backs up to a walking trail, so Mike (the company president…who actually came out to give me my bid) was insistent on getting that side done in one day for security reasons.  That meant a lot to us. In the end, we got a great fence that’s built the way I would do it myself if I had the time and energy (ie; over-engineered!).  It’s straight, solid, and not going anywhere.  The site supervisor Darren and the crew were courteous, professional, and hard workers.  And in the end, the invoice reflected exactly what we expected.

We chose a pretty involved design, with lots of metal posts & digging in hard clay soil, so the demo of our old fence & building the new fence took about 5 days. I routinely checked in on the progress & found it easy and comfortable communicating with the workers when I had questions or comments about how things were looking. They worked clean, and quiet (all the digging was by hand), and they always asked if they had questions along the way – I love that. The construction manager, was readily available & responsive to my comments and questions. After the job was complete, I told him that we wanted to add an additional lock on the inside of the gate and he stopped by to give me a can of the spray paint they used so the new latch would exactly match the other hardware they had installed.

Darren got us an estimate in less than 24 hours along with variations of the estimate as we had a strict budget we were trying to fit in to.  The fence was not cheap but the guys at Capitol Fence did an AMAZING job.  They estimated the fence to take a week to put in (we have a very large backyard) but it only took them 2 days!!!!

I can’t say enough about the job Mike Morrow and his crew from Capitol fence did on our front yard fence. We wanted a 4′ high fence using horizontal cedar fence planks and galvanized steel poles. Mike took the time to listen to exactly what we wanted and made several specific recommendations that greatly improved the finished look of the fence. His crew (Thanks Pacheco!) took their time and did a phenomenal job! 3 days of 9 hours/day, stepped the fence perfectly with the grade of the yard and left everything spotless when they finished. Always nice to find a great company that truly cares about customer service. After calling several other fence companies before landing at Capitol Fence, it was a breath of fresh air.

Excellent, quality workmanship. Very thorough and descriptive estimator. He brought samples of all of the items used on the fence. They did a great job all around. It’s not a cheap purchase, but we know the fence will be in good shape for many, many years to come.

I talked to quite a few companies before hiring Capitol Fence to install a fence and motorized gate for me in 2008. It was the right choice! They were very professional, fast, and did a great job. Just recently I called because I had a problem with the gate. It turns out it was just a dead battery, but William was out the next day and got it working again in no time.
